[Current Mood | embarrassed]

I've got this line in my userinfo:

I used to announce these purges in my journal, but it was pointed out to me that making such announcements was likely causing the drama I was attempting to avoid.

Clearly, I forgot about that again.

So I've done what I'm going to do about realigning my f'list, made the other entries private, and I'm moving the hell along.

I was just looking at the nudge "feature" here on LJ; someone I read hasn't posted in a while, and I was looking to see if the function allows you to include a message. Imagine my surprise when the list told me that said person had posted far more recently than anything I'd seen....

*checks something else* Hm. Those filtered/private entries show up on the Calendar page, as well. And I'd swear that someone has groused about that to LJ before....

A nonny mouse!

A nonny mouse who's in league with the LJ Fairy, 'cause guess who's got a permanent account now?

Thanks, mouse! (And thanks to those of you who had made noises about possibly doing this, as well.)

My paid account expires the 29th.

I get paid the 29th.

The upcoming Permanent Account sale ends the 28th.

Yes, I know plenty of people on both sides of whether or not Perms are a worthwhile investment in light of Strikethrough. I still use my journal regularly enough to consider it one.

As of this writing, I have gotten five comments on my last (friends-locked) post.

One of those has arrived in my email.

I have, however, gotten three birthday notifications. *eyeroll*

At least I'm going to be busy if LJ is going to be fuxx0red.

Doing some cleanup on my f'list today; my guidlines for what I cut and when are on my userinfo page if you're not familiar with them. As always, if reading me is no longer a priority in your life, feel free to drop, though if you're someone I know in meatspace I would like it if you drop me a line to let me know what's up.

Ivy's wondering where the SMOTUs hang out.

(Tatty, Ivy's one of my freaky friends, so y'all ought to get along especially well.)

[Current Music |Barenaked Ladies - Who Needs Sleep]

I just did a sizeable f'list edit - I've been realizing over the last several weeks that there are a lot of people that I just haven't developed a connection to here, and as such I'm skimming your entries when you post. (Yes, I realize that's rather a vicious cycle. If you have suggestions on how to break that, I'm all ears.) And as I don't believe in "default view" filters, I figure it's simpler all the way around to just cut the people I'm not reading any longer.

AS ALWAYS, THIS IS NOT PERSONAL. If you feel I've made an error, please email me and we can talk about it. (This is a paid account; kshandra-at-LJ gets to me.) Feel free to drop me in return, if that's the way you wish to handle it. Indeed, if you've been thinking the same thing about my journal, go right ahead and drop me whether or not I've dropped you - it's always f'list amnesty day around these parts.

Comments disabled, as I don't want this to turn into a "Hooray, I made the cut!"fest.

[Current Music |The Mutaytor - How To Covert Civilians Into Rock Stars]

From [info]lizardling:

How LiveJournal is run is determined by user statistics, and because many older people don't want to include their year of birth in their user info, it looks like the average LJ user is an 18-year-old girl. (Nothing against 18-year-old girls - I used to be one, you know.)

So LJ is tailoring new design stuff to teenaged girls, and if you'd rather they tailor it to a more representative population of LJ users, it's easy to go here and put in your year of birth. If you're nervous about showing the year but still want people to know when it's your birthday, you can uncheck the "show my birthday to other users" option and put your birth day/month in your user bio.

I did it! You can do it! And the more people spread this around, the more likely it is to help.

And from [info]gridlore:

199 pages worth of comments on that post, 82 (and counting) on the second page (which you should read, to see the results it's getting already). Let's hope 6A gets the message, neh?
